Hi, I’m Payton Shepherd. I believe that therapy can benefit everyone—at any age and stage of life. My approach is grounded in the idea that a therapist serves as a supportive third party: someone who offers guidance, perspective, and encouragement from a compassionate, educated, and non-judgmental stance.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adult women, helping them navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and major life transitions. I have a passion for helping children and adolescents be the best version of themselves as well as supporting young adults as they move from college into the “real world,” a time that can be both exciting and overwhelming.
With a background in counseling and social work, I bring experience supporting youth with a range of mental health needs. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and genuine. I value working closely with families—particularly the parents of my younger clients—to create an environment of trust and shared goals. In sessions, I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and play therapy techniques. I am currently pursuing certification in play therapy to deepen my work with younger clients.
My goal is to create a space where you—or your child—feel seen, heard, and supported. If you're ready to start your therapeutic journey and feel we may be a good fit, I’d love to connect with you. I look forward to walking alongside you every step of the way.
