Hello! My name is Madison DeRousse, and I work with individuals struggling with a range of mental health concerns, chronic diagnoses, and how to cope with obstacles we experience in everyday human life.
Being a human is full of what we know as adversity and challenges, as well as resilience and beauty. I believe these things are all worth embracing, and being supported through, which further enriches that human experience. I am dedicated to working with individuals looking to work towards vitality, and relief of suffering from the barriers that interfere with living your best life. I am trained in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and have experience using a variety of approaches to best navigate my client's needs as they arise and are addressed. I have an existentialist perspective on life, meaning that I enjoy providing "meaning-making" through my therapeutic work, and helping you find meaning in any experience. I utilize a client centered approach to best understand your needs, and always believe in your expertise in your life experience and reminders that the therapeutic relationship is a partnership.
I have previously worked with individuals struggling with substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, and co-occurring disorders or symptoms, in levels of care ranging from residential to intensive outpatient. Through my work in behavioral health, I have learned that as humans: our thoughts are sometimes irrational, our actions are sometimes poor timing or imperfect, and that our emotions are valid as a response to how you and other's thoughts and actions play out. My goal is to help you find the inspiration and confidence to explore and change your life."
