Hello, my name is Rachel Sanderson.

Have you been struggling to feel like yourself lately? Are you having a hard time enjoying life or find it overwhelming to take steps towards the life you want? Did you experience difficult events now or in the past? As a licensed professional counselor and art therapist, I am confident that each and every one of us comes from a place of intrinsic goodness. Within each of us, are the resources and resilience we need to navigate life. It is my goal to hold a space for you to reconnect with your natural abilities and turn difficult social and emotional situations into opportunities for empowerment, compassion, and independence.

I take a compassionate and friendly approach with clients, working hard to create a calm and safe space for you to be. My holistic approach to treatment utilizes a mix of modalities depending upon a client’s needs, including; Art Therapy, Mindfulness Based Approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Self-Compassion, and EMDR.

I have over 8 years of experience working with teens and adults in a variety of settings navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, women's issues, and grief and loss. I hold a dual Master's degree in Art Therapy & Counseling from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.
