Hi there, my name is Suzanne Holtshouser. Whether this is your first time seeking therapeutic support, or you’ve found yourself circling back, I’m happy you’re here! Trust, rapport, and presence are the greatest tools in my skill set. I lead clinical sessions with honesty, humor, and heart, using a person-centered, non-judgmental approach that inspires change and improves the quality of life for my clients. With each positive and supportive interaction we share, we are adding protective factors to your well-being.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri and graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2013, followed by a Graduate Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Family Studies in 2014. My clinical background has served people of all ages, from years of experience as a School Therapist in an elementary school, to that of a Social Worker in Hospice Care. I have developed suicide prevention and awareness curriculums, as well as culturally responsive curriculums for adolescents, led sexual abuse prevention programs, led crisis response teams, and served as a member of a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. I am an ally to people of color (POC), as well as those in the LGBTQIA+ community.
I serve clients ages 5+ and incorporate aspects of Acceptance and Empowerment Practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care to address concerns of adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, emotion regulation, familial issues, grief and bereavement, self-esteem, self-identity and exploration, peer pressure, and relationships.
