Hello! My name is Carmen Murphy and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have enjoyed my 2.5 years of experience as a therapist working with children aged 3-11 in both the school and private practice setting. In addition to working with children, I also hold a passion for working with the LGBTQ+ community.
I primarily use play therapy techniques in my work, and I love incorporating art into sessions with my clients. I use strengths-based methods and find high value in empowering my clients to know that they can face life challenges with their own abilities. I find that the best outcomes for my client populations happen when there is both individual and family work done.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Motivational Interviewing, and I am also in the process of obtaining my RPT. My goal is for my clients to feel resilient and know that after termination, they have reached their goals. I typically see clients that are neurodivergent, clients with a past trauma history, and clients that struggle with anxiety, transitions, and social skills. I strive to create a space for processing, discovery, healing, and feeling every emotion there is.
Feeling overwhelmed or trapped does not have to be a forever feeling. I am here to meet you where you are and join you on your journey!
